“A technique which maximizes the absorption and effectiveness of products”
A layering technique is an application method. This method is used when applying or layering your skincare products one after another in a specific order. This technique is used by skincare professionals in order to maximize the absorption and effectiveness of each product, while promoting hydration and overall radiance of the skin. The following are steps used to master the layering technique. Used in order to ensure the highest performance from your skincare products.
*The layering technique must be performed on perfectly cleansed skin. As a rule, the lightest or least viscous formulas should be applied first. Thinner compounds will be absorbed more quickly into the skin. The richer or thicker formulas should be applied last. Also, please allow from 30 seconds to a minute between each step to ensure complete penetration of the product into the skin.
STEP 1: CLEANSE THE SKIN
Use a gentle cleanser to clean your face, neck and eyelids. If you wear makeup, it is important to double cleanse your skin.
STEP 2: EXFOLIATION (ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK)
Exfoliation removes dead cells and impurities from the skin. This process reveals a natural radiance and vitality while protecting the skin’s moisture barrier. If you have dry skin, exfoliate once a week. If you have oily skin, please exfoliate twice a week.
STEP 3: BALANCE pH
Since water has a pH of 7 and your skin has a physiological pH of 5.5, it is important to rebalance the pH of your skin after cleansing. Use a alcohol-free toner with moisturizing and antioxidant ingredients.
STEP 4: APPLICATION OF SERUMS
Serums are very light, ultra-concentrated formulas with active ingredients. They penetrate quickly into the skin and are able to reach the deeper layers of the epidermis. That’s why they should be applied first.
STEP 5: APPLICATION OF AN OIL
Applying oil can assist in regenerating the skin’s protective barrier and restore its hydration. It improves the flexibility and elasticity of the skin bringing more comfort and a feeling of well-being.
STEP 6: HYDRATION
Applying moisturizer is one of the last stages of layering. In addition to its moisturizing action, this treatment will have a synergistic reaction with the previously applied skin care products to maximize their effects.
STEP 7: SUN PROTECTION (DAY TIME)
Finish by applying sunscreen to fight against premature aging during the day. It will act on the surface of the skin and form a protective barrier against UVA and UVB rays as well as pollution. Apply this protection as the last step of your layering technique for the best results.
